More members. More power. A better EBA.
The improvements we want are possible—but only if more of us stand together
Before we can push for an EBA, we need to grow our union.
What is an EBA?
An enterprise bargaining agreement sets enforceable pay and conditions for our workplace—negotiated collectively, voted on by employees and approved by the Fair Work Commission.
- Build membership: enough organised members to bargain with real strength
- Agree on priorities: a clear set of claims employees support
- Show broad support: demonstrate that employees want to bargain
- Get organised: members, delegates and the union ready to act together
First we build support. Then we can move forward with confidence.
An EBA starts with membership
- More members give us a stronger collective voice
- Strong membership shows our priorities are widely shared
- Visible support gives us confidence to begin bargaining
- Every new member makes it harder to ignore us
The EBA is the goal. Membership is how we get there.
Two requirements before we proceed
- Reach 50% union membership across the workforce
- Secure a supermajority vote to proceed to enterprise bargaining
We need both strong membership and a clear mandate before we can push for an EBA.
What the union is doing now
- Working to establish the union’s rights under the law to communicate directly with members and non-members
- Creating clear, reliable lines of communication
- Securing advance communication about major structural changes
- Representing members in workplace disputes
This groundwork helps us stay connected, act early and protect members when it matters.
What we are fighting for
- Protect our jobs and conditions
- Keep pay moving with living costs
- Make flexibility fair and dependable
- Support people through work and life
- Give employees a genuine say
These outcomes need collective bargaining—and collective bargaining needs members.
Everyone should know what their work is worth
- Annual rises that keep pace with inflation
- Transparent pay bands for every role
- Consistent pay principles across Australia
- Salary protected from uncertain equity
Fair pay takes bargaining power. Bargaining power comes from membership.
Security when change happens
- Stronger redundancy pay based on service
- Clear timelines, consultation and fewer repeated rounds
- Genuine redeployment opportunities
- Equity protection and no post-redundancy non-competes
Together, we can insist employees do not carry all the risk.
Flexibility we can rely on
- Remote work by default where the role allows
- Office attendance only for operational reasons
- Fair access to remote contracts and unpaid leave
- Practical part-time options for returning primary carers
A right with clear rules—not a favour that can disappear.
A modern workplace must support modern families
- Meaningful parental and carer leave
- Support for miscarriage, premature birth, fertility and adoption
- Help with care costs caused by office attendance
- Practical wellbeing, ergonomic and study support
No one should have to choose between their job, health and family.
Human decisions, clear standards
- Realistic and measurable expectations
- Transparent ratings, benchmarks and pay links
- Protection from unfair performance management
- Human review and safeguards whenever AI is used
Accountability must apply to the system—not only the employee.
Protect what we already have
- Existing leave and flexibility
- Fair overtime, callout and time-in-lieu arrangements
- Clear communication during organisational change
- Consistent processes for everyone
If a benefit matters, it belongs in the agreement.
Decisions about us should not be made without us
Meaningful union consultation on:
- Restructures and redundancies
- Pay and performance systems
- AI-assisted employment decisions
- Major changes to conditions
A bigger union means a stronger voice before decisions are final—not after.
Our priorities
- Pay that keeps up
- Security during change
- Flexibility with clear rules
- Support for families and wellbeing
- Transparent, fair decisions
- A genuine employee voice
A fairer workplace with protections we can count on.
